Wu Xingtang  | Art profile

Wu Xingtang, nickname is Runtang. He was born in Zherong county Fujian province, he studied calligraphy in his childhood. he graduated from Fujian academy of crafts and arts in July 1992, Chinese contemporary calligrapher, collector, the president of Xiamen city Runtang gallery.

Currently he is member of Chinese calligrapher’s association, painter of Beijing Rongbaozhai painting academy, vice chairman of Xiamen city Ningde chamber of commerce, vice chairman of Xiamen city Zherong chamber of commerce, Xiamen city CPPCC painting and calligraphy studio committee member.

Main art profile:

From Sep. 1989 to Jul. 1992, he studied in Fujian academy of crafts and arts;

From Sep. 1992 to Sep. 2005, he worked in Xiamen cultural relic shop.

From Aug. 2005 until now, he established Runtang gallery.

In 2016, he established Runtang painting academy.

Work exhibitions and awards:

In 1996, calligraphy works were selected into 《A grand view of Chinese calligraphy and painting art works》.

In 1997, The appreciation of ancient calligraphy and painting work 《Hong Yi's southern Fujian reason and calligraphy art》 published on national publication 《Art .life》.

In 1997, calligraphy work 《Accumulate virtuous for the way》 was selected into the third session national lettering art exhibition, hosted by Chinese calligraphy’s association.

In August of 1997, calligraphy work was selected into the first session national youth arts calligraphy work exhibition.

In 1997, calligraphy work was selected into 《National hundred entrepreneur works collection》.

In 1999, stood for Chinese lettering association to Korea to participate in the seminar, work 《Hometown feeling》 was selected into 1999 international lettering alliance Korea exhibition.

In 2000, stood for Chinese lettering association to Singapore to participate in the seminar, work 《Sage》 was selected into 2000 international lettering association Singapore exhibition.

In 2001, participated in Chinese cultural relic circulation center “senior relic jade identification class” to study.

In 2001, main achievements were selected into 《Chinese talent dictionary》 and 《Chinese century expert》, etc.

In 2002, has published 《Xingtang calligraphy selected works》.

In 2002, Chinese painting work 《Spring summer autumn winter flowers》 was selected into national Chinese painting works exhibition, hosted by Chinese artists association.

In 2015, claborate style painting 《Flourishing age》 was selected into the 8th session national famous bird and flower painter works exhibition.

Works collection and publicatiosn:

Has been published 4 personal albums, 《Xingtang calligraphy collection》, 《Runtang painting and calligraphy appreciation》(The theory), 《Runtang painting and calligraphy appreciation》(Painting and calligraphy),《Xiamen travel guide》.

Many times participate in national painting and calligraphy grand prix competition, works were collected by art galleries at home and abroad, and wrote inscriptions for more than 4000 enterprise and public institutions in Xiamen and southeast Asia.

Art brief comment:

The contents of Wu Xingtang's calligraphy concentrate the traditional virtues of Chinese famous people from generation to generation, embodied the spirit of unremitting self-improvement of China.

The painting theme pay attention to the reality, describes the new things, expresses the new feelings, the color of era is vivid, the breath of life is rich, the point of view is different, the styles are various.
